Why Dr. Folck Became a Dentist
Dr. Folck’s journey into dentistry started off very simply: her college roommate said she had a pretty smile and that she should become a dentist! She had always loved her own dentist growing up, and as the daughter of two physicians, she knew for a long time that she wanted to do something to help people. That one compliment eventually led her to today, where she has over 14 years of dental experience and is thrilled to be carrying on the family tradition of providing healthcare and improving people’s lives.
Education & Background
Dr. Folck was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. She attended the University of Miami, and in 2000, she received her Bachelors of Science in Biology. She later received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2004.

Dr. Folck met her husband, Mike, while she was in dental school and he was in his residency--he’s a practicing oral surgeon in the Virginia Beach area. They have two young children, Kiran and Jaya, and Dr. Folck just loves attending all of their various activities. She also enjoys reading, playing tennis (she even plays competitively from time to time), exercising, and going on big trips around the world with her dad every year.
